Patient Participation Groups (PPGs) – Helping Improve Your GP Practice
At Medics PCN Partner practices, we believe patients should have a voice in how their services develop. One of the best ways to do this is by joining a Patient Participation Group (PPG).
A PPG is a group of volunteer patients who work with their GP practice to share feedback, discuss ideas and help improve services for the local community.
Why PPGs Are Important
PPGs help practices understand what matters most to their patients. By sharing experiences and suggestions, members help practices improve communication, develop services and better meet the needs of their community.
PPG members may help by:
- Sharing patient views and feedback
- Suggesting ideas to improve services
- Helping promote important health messages, such as screening and vaccinations
- Supporting health awareness and community initiatives
- Providing feedback on new intiatives and service changes
Who Can Join?
Any registered patient can join a PPG. Practices welcome people from different ages, backgrounds and communities, so the group reflects the patients they serve.
You don’t need medical knowledge or special experience — just an interest in helping improve your local GP practice.
