What is High Blood pressure?
High blood pressure, or hypertension, happens when the force of blood against your artery walls is consistently too high, putting extra strain on your heart and blood vessels. Over time, this increases the risk of heart attack, stroke, kidney problems and other serious conditions.
Often, there are no clear symptoms, which is why regular checks are so important. Simple lifestyle changes such as eating less salt, staying active, drinking less alcohol, quitting smoking and maintaining a healthy weight can all help lower blood pressure and protect your heart health.
