Medics PCN are proud to have developed their own nursing team made up of Nursing Associates (NA’s), Student Nurses and Trainee Nurse Associates (TNA’s). They work closely with the GP practices to deliver care for patients workings across various areas of nursing. Specifically ECG’s, blood tests, wound care, spirometry and health checks.

Nursing Associates deliver hands-on, person-centred care as part of the nursing team and support registered nurses to focus on the more complex clinical care. Nursing Associates are on the NMC register (National Nursing and Midwives Register).

Student Nurses provide a high standard of nursing care by assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating programmes of patient care. They work closely with the GP’s and multi-disciplinary team members in monitoring and maintaining policies, standards of nursing care, staff and service development within the practice.

Trainee Nursing Associates will develop the skills and knowledge, over the course of a two-year programme (for example, apprenticeship, foundation degree) to deliver high quality and compassionate care. They deliver specific clinical tasks and direct care to patients and families, under the direction of a registered nursing associate (or other registered care professional).
