Dave – The Cycling Paramedic!

To raise awareness for World Mental Health Day on October 10th, Dave, our dedicated PCN paramedic who works alongside our doctors every Friday morning and afternoon, took on the challenge of cycling 18km. 18 kilometres to represent the fact that 18 people die by suicide each day. This inspiring effort not only promotes physical fitness but also highlights the importance of mental well-being. Dave set off from Marsh Farm Health Centre at 9:30am on the 10th October 2024, cycling to each of the five Medics PCN practices to drop off posters displaying mental health awareness. Mental health awareness is a big passion of Dave’s and is the main core focus of his work as a PCN Paramedic.

Support is always available for you if you do struggle with your mental health, whether you are young or old, mental health affects everyone and many people may find it harder to cope than others. Speaking to your GP is one of the many things you can do to access help and advice. Mental Health charities offer a wide range of resources and practical tips to patients here at the surgery and the general public.

Everyone at Medics PCN is very proud of Dave and his amazing achievement to raise awareness for a very important cause.
